Liverpool Cruise Port

Formerly used as a Port of Call, Liverpool is now also used for embarkation cruises. As such, few amenities are currently available. The Terminal is within close proximity to the city centre, so many facilities it may not have at this time are within a 5-15 minute walk.

Getting here

By Car - Leave the M6 at Junction 21a, taking the M62 towards Liverpool. Follow the M62, keeping directly ahead for the A5080. Continue on this road until it merges into the A5047, following signs for Liverpool City Centre and Albert Dock. Liverpool Cruise Terminal is not signposted from the city centre; follow the brown signs on the arterial routes for Liverpool and/or Waterfront until you reach The Liver Building, where ‘Liverpool Cruise Terminal’ signage becomes clearer.

By Train - Lime Street Station is closest, with main line trains to and from Manchester, London, Scotland and the rest of the UK. Liverpool Cruise Terminal is a 20-30 minute walk from Lime Street [see tourist information signs] or approximately 5-10 minutes by taxi.

By Air - John Lennon Airport is closest. 7 miles from the city centre, it takes around 20-25 minutes by taxi.

Pre-booking long term parking through your travel agent or cruise operator is advised.

The Boudicca multistory car park is 100 metres walk from the terminal, beside the Malmaison Hotel. This needs to be booked through Fred Olsen Cruise Liners prior to arrival. Please call 014 7329 2444 for more information.

Discovery Parking offers long stay parking. This must be booked through Cruise & Maritime. For more information or to book, please call 084 5500 5045.

ipark at John Lennon airport is an option. Starting at around £27 a week, (including booking fees), with monthly parking here from as little as £95. For booking and more information, please click here.

Drop off & Pick up

Drop-off points are located directly in front of the terminal building. There is a maximum stay of 5 minutes, as little space is available.

There is no pick-up points. Passengers arriving will need to head over to the Pay and Display parking. Located 100 meters from the cruise terminal, you can find it adjacent to the Malmaison Hotel on William Jessop Way, L3 1QZ. To get there, keep the Crowne Plaza and Malmaison Hotel on your left as you head out of the terminal. Turn left on to Bath Street, going on to the roundabout. Take the first exit, then turn left into William Jessop Way.

Passengers with mobility issues and disabled passengers should ask their travel agents or cruise operators to check if onsite pick-up is available.

The terminal itself is non smoking throughout, however staff should be happy to direct you in the direction of the designated smoking area. Toilets are available, though these may or may not be within the terminal itself.

Local tourist information is available on days when ships are in port. For currency exchange, internet access and postboxes, you will need to head into town. A 5-10 minute walk, most shops and restaurants are open between 9am – 10pm, 6 days a week, and 10am – 4pm on Sundays.

There are no ATMs within the terminal itself. Walking into town is your best bet when it comes to making any last-minute withdrawals. Catching a bite to eat or a quick coffee while you are in town is advisable, as there are not currently any Café or restaurant facilities. The closest public phone is by the Port exit.

The terminal is fully accessible for disabled passenger. Please contact your travel agent, cruise operator or the Port directly with specific concerns and queries, or if additional help may be required.
